Things may look a little different, but this is the same safe space.
It’s where we bring Peace to our table and Rest to our spirit with words of nourishment for body and soul.
What we chat about is unchanged:
• Family nutrition – trust a nutrition tip that doesn’t depend on guilt to motivate.
• Cooking basics - build confidence in the kitchen by trying a Plain Jane recipe.
• Faith - contemplate our God that knows us the best, and loves us the most.
What is new:
A newsletter name! The Contented Table seemed to bring together all the common threads and really, is what we are hoping for.
Peace + Rest = Contentment.
Where? At the center (even if not yet) of our home - the Table.
How? With words of nourishment for body and soul.
What is next:
Look for a newsletter in your inbox twice a month. No need to click to read. The post will be in the body of the email.
You can sift through a full archive of posts on the (Substack) website. I am working away at migrating and editing what is currently on my author website. These are posts that may be familiar.
Subscription options. Coming up you will have a choice of what you receive in your inbox.
Paid subscribers will have:
Full access to all articles.
A seat at the Contented Table Community Chat (this is where I picture us chatting at a real table!).
The Contented Table Podcast. This will start with me reading previous posts so I can find my voice and you can giggle at my fumblings (is that a word?). I plan to graduate to exclusive solo content with my sights on inviting to our table, real-life seekers of Peace and Rest. Just like us.
This may be too much for some. Free subscribers will enjoy full articles once a month with the option to upgrade if they crave more.
Why make the move to Substack?
The ability to have community without the brain suck of social media. Nor the algorithm wall between us.
Everything Contented Table is housed in one place - newsletter, posts, future podcast, and more.
Potential support for this ministry without throwing ads in the way of connection. Ads annoy me, so if there is a way to avoid them, I am on board.
The choice of how much you engage is yours. We pay for what we value and what we want to see more of - for ourselves or in the world. This model will naturally establish a kindred inner community for a deeper connection.
I’ve sensed God’s leading in this so am anticipating His contribution to our community. And I am excited. After all, He was the One who first offered to come in to take a seat at our table.
“Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends.”
Revelation 3:20 NLT
Please let me know what you think! Feel free to comment so we can all join the conversation. Or reply, if, you are like me - a little tentative in public spaces.
I hope you will stay a while. I’ve saved a seat for you,
Jane
What a perfect name for what you have to share here--The Contented Table. Perfect!
